Shriya Saran, the timeless beauty, is a much loved actor of the South Indian film industry who’s been reigning the world of cinema from nearly a decade. She’s acted in nearly 70 films in the languages of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English and Hindi and won a host of prestigious awards in all of her career.


A trained and expert traditional dancer, Shriya Saran was noticed in one of her dance videos and for the beauty that she was, movie offers came her way. Ishtam, the telugu film produced by Ramoji Rao was the first that she acted in and although the film didn’t really fare all that well, she was noticed. Dolly Ahluwalia is an actress, who became popular for her works as a costume designer. In 2001, she received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for costume designing, and became a three-time National Film Award winner; twice for the category of Best Costume Design for her works in the films, Bandit Queen and Haider respectively and one as Best Supporting Actress for her outstanding performance in the 2012 comedy drama film, Vicky Donor. 


Dolly was born and raised up in Delhi and she has been very active in dramatics all through her years in St. Thomas. Then she studied at Delhi University, where she received a lot of trophies from the dramatics section, until her father saw an ad of the National School of Drama. Dolly’s father works in the government while her mother is a plain housewife. She is the youngest among her four siblings. Her father knew Mrs. Rita Kothari, a teacher from NSD, and that’s how she started in NSD. 


According to Dolly, she initially worked as a costume designer and then as an actress, but she has no formal training in design and acting. The designer-actress gained some knowledge from the National School of Drama and through some personal experiences only. It was her guru, Ebrahim Alkazis, a popular theater director, who gave her new direction and told her that she has a great eye for costume. She didn’t take any course, it is just her life’s observations that she wanted to translate into the silver screen. 


Dolly started her career with designing costumes for theater actors. Then she worked with Bandit Queen and later designed for popular directors like Vishal Bhardwaj for the films The Blue Umbrella, Omkara, Blood Brothers, Kaminey and Haider and Deepa Mehta for the films Water and Midnight’s Children. 


Dolly also worked in Hindi films like Love Aaj Kal, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. 


She also acted in television and was debuted in the TV series Amma and Family in 1995. Then she acted in the big screen in films like Mudda – The Issue in 2003, Yahaan, Water and The Blue Umbrella in 2005, Aloo Chaat in 2009, Ek Noor in 2011, Vicky Donor and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana in 2012, Saadi Love Story, Bajatey Raho and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in 2013.

Rahul came from a lower-middle class household and he, together with his elder brother was connected to Literacy India for a decade now. The organization have been sponsoring their education and Rahul has been doing theatre and a lot of acting with them. While Rahul was on his Class X at the Rotary International School in Gurgaon, the producer 3 Idiots, Vidhu Vinod Chopra also sponsored his education after the film.
