Money Monster is the kind of movie which creates a claustrophobic feeling and at the same time a few nail-biting sequences.  There is plenty of satirist approach at the beginning of the movie, then a lot of thrill-packed scenes in the middle. The movie could pull the audiences to the theater for the logically arranged sequences in it. How the movie has managed to suffice the expectations of the audiences, one has to read the review and know.  The movie is a directorial venture by Jodie Foster An Academy Award winner; a very talented and lovel >> Read More... , and the script is indeed powerful to entertain the audiences.

Plot

Clooney has done the role of Lee Gates, the host of a television show which guides the audience regarding money matters.   Julia Roberts She’s one of the Hollywood’s heavyweight actresses >> Read More... does the role of one who provides suggestions to Clooney sitting in the Control Room Story Coming Soon... >> Read More... . Accidentally, one of his suggestions goes wrong, and a devastated man, done by Jack O’Connell, who has lost his money following suggestions, barges in while a show is being aired. He takes Clooney into custody and he wants explanation for the wrong advice given by Clooney. Watch the movie to know what happens next.

Star Performances

Clooney has done the role of the host in the movie. His appearance on the screen is very enticing.  His New York accent is more laudable.  Julia Roberts has got the right modulation in her voice to make the movie even more thrilling.  Jack O’Connell has got an explanation up his sleeves for the kidnapping of Clooney. He is worth drawing the attention of audiences for not just the gun but also a point to ponder over.  Other supporting actors in the movie have appeared in television shows.  Their appearance adds strength to the movie.  There are enough performers in the movie which make it a pleasing treat.

Analysis

The plot is woven in such a way that it is not a message to anybody.  There is a lingering sense of comfort among the audiences throughout the movie.  The actors in the movie are really good in their performance, and it makes the state of affairs a little better.  You are not learning anything by seeing this movie but will come out of the theater with the exhilaration of watching a nice movie.  There are many credits to the movie as the actors, fine storyline, and the interesting narration.  But, every movie runs out of logic in some or other place.  Suggestions about money matters seem awkward, and suddenly as the police make the villainous Kyle’s girlfriend appear on screen, it is the hilt of absurdity.

What is there?

  • The plot and the narration are carefully crafted.
  • The performances by the artists, and especially that of Clooney is commendable

What is not there:?

  • The logic is missing in a few places.
  • The movie might not hold a wider appeal, that too among some of the Indian audiences.

Verdict:

The movie is of course not with a message and appeals to a certain section of the audiences.
