The movie ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island’ is a sequel to the 2008 hit movie ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’. The sequel has been made in 3D. It is a family adventure movie. Sean, now aged 17, his stepfather, a helicopter pilot and his iron-hearted and beautiful daughter go on a mission to the island, find the survivor and flee the place. Just as they are leaving, tumults rock the place submerging the island under the sea.

There is a lighter vein to the movie, and the humor is good except for few jokes by Luiz Guzman, which dampens the spirit. If Luis Guzman makes a very brief appearance, he stays in the hearts of audiences. But he comes for about 90 minutes in the movie thus dampening the spirit.
The audio is not impressive. Luis Guzman seems to be in bad shape when it comes to sound. The soundtrack by

is commendable. The sound mix seems to be decent.
The sequel fails to meet the expectations of audiences across the world. The movie could only draw audiences from children between age 5 and 13.
But, when weighed for its quality, the movie is not an awful one to watch. There is a humor intertwined in the movie that is quite above average.
Woefully, the movie is not worth watching in theaters. Hopefully, the director comes up with some novel idea for the third sequel.
