Plot

It is about the trial that takes place when Deborah Lipstadt, a Holocaust scholar, is sued by Holocaust denier David Irving, a writer on Nazi Germany. Deborah and her legal team, led by Richard Rampton, are to prove that Irving is lying. The trial of defamation continues with twists and turns.

Star Performance

Rachel Weisz did an excellent job as Deborah Lipstadt along with Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Spall. Their acting was on point.

Analysis

This is a biographical film is based on the book “History on Trial: My day in court with Holocaust Denier” by David Hare.  This film is about being guilty until proven innocent. Deborah Lipstadt says that “There are certain things that are true, and Holocaust is one of them”. To prove this an interesting trial takes place with various twists which require logical thinking. She proves that Irving is a “falsifier of history”. This film is very interesting and thought-provoking.
