Plot

The story begins in 1937 in the city of London. Hercule Poirot watches the performance of Salome Otter Bourne, a popular singer, in a club. In the club, he also notices Jacqueline ‘ Jackie ’ introducing Simon Poyle, her fiancé, to heiress Linnet, her childhood friend, and Linnet hires Simon as her land agent.

Around six weeks later, Hercule meets his friend Bouc and his mother, Euphemia, in Egypt. All of them go to attend the wedding of Simon and Linnet.

After the wedding, Simon and Linnet reach Egypt for their Honeymoon, accompanied by the following people: Louise Bourget, Linnet's maid; Salmone, her manager, who is also her niece, Rosalie; Marie Van Schuyler, Linnet’s godmother and her nurse Mrs. Bowers; Andrew Katchadouria, Linnet’s Manager and her cousin; and a doctor, Dr. Windleshman; and Simon’s former fiancé Jackie.

Linnet who is scared of Jackie, who hates Linnet now for breaking her alliance with Simone, requests Poirot to protect her. Because Jackie has stalked the couple and reached to Egypt behind them.

All the guests and the couple boards to the cruise ship, named S.S Karnack.

During a conversation with Poirot, Bouc reveals that he is dating Rosalie, but her mother does not like her. Meanwhile, Poirot finds that he is attracted to Salome.

When guests return to Karnack, after saving Linnet and Salome from a falling Boulder which would have crushed Linnet and Salome, they find Jackie had already boarded the ship.

Linnet goes to the bed and Salome confronts Jackie, to which she shoots him in the leg, and when she was about to shoot herself, Rosalie and Bouc stops her, and takes her to Mrs. Bowers and Salome is treated by Dr. Windleshman. The next morning, Lousie finds Linnet dead, somebody shooted her in the head and Linnet’s expensive necklace was also stolen.

Poirot and Bouc, sets to interrogate the guests. The events that takes place during interrogation forms the rest of the story.

Star performance

Kenneth Branagh, as Hercule Poirot, is fantastic. He portrayed his role brilliantly. His dialogue delivery was excellent, and his acting is show stealer.

Analysis

The film “ Death on the Nile ” is based on Agatha Christie’s book Death on Nile.

The story of the film is very nice and interesting. It feels like a lot of time and effort is given for the setup of the story. The story never feels like boring or pointless. There are a lot of hidden plots in the story. The story is quite Mysterious.

The director of the film is Kenneth Branagh. As a director his work is excellent. He has worked on each and every point of the film. The film never feels dragged and all the credit goes to Kenneth Branagh. Branagh also portrayed the role of Hercule Poirot, and he shines there as well.

The cinematography of the film is brilliant. The CGI and visuals of the film are top-notch. The setup of the sets is also nice. The aesthetics that the film offers are also wonderful.

The music and dialogues of the film are like cherry on the top.

The costumes of the characters are quite decent.
