In the script, Reiser wrote down his experience with cancer and later 50/50 movie was filmed. The story revolves around Adam Lerner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) a 27-year-old journalist who suffers cancer and to fight cancer his best friend Kyle ( Seth Rogen Seth Rogen is a Canadian born actor, comedian, wri >> Read More... ) and his girlfriend Katherine ( Anna Kendrick Anna Kendrick was born in Portland on 9th August 1 >> Read More... ) helps him.

Plot: The title is 50/50 because of the mortality rate is 50% with the cancer Adam has. It is about cancer, but it is nothing like other cancer movies. It is a full on comedy and fun movie, each character plays their strength like Rogan's pot head antics, Joseph's sensitivity, and Kendrick's wired cuteness, every actor puts in the effort. Director Levine has carefully balanced the delicacy and the comedy in his movie. The cast in the movie is a group of young and talented actors which bring life to the story. Not only Joseph as Adam the protagonist did a great job, but the supporting actors also left an impression.

The movie is a challenging and thoughtful story with characters from real life. It is a touching story about friendship and love and most importantly it is rooted in subjects that are not typically Hollywood. 50/50 is one of the funniest films of all times about serious illness, it is also that rare lighthearted comedy that can provoke heartfelt tears. If we avoid sappy sentimental and snarky trivializing, the movie is sincere and deeply affecting. With a brilliant script, flawless performances, and the perfect approach, 50/50 is a must watch.

Verdict: It is a never seen before eye candy and a perfect blend of two different genres.
