E. Krishnappa, also known as E. Krishna, is a film producer of Kannada movies and also a Member of the Legislative Council of Karnataka. He is a part of the political party called Janata Dal (Secular) or JD(S). Krishnappa was born in Adakamaranahalli region of Nelamangala in the state of Karnataka. Since he found the script interesting and since he knew Ganesh from his hometown, Krishnappa decided to finance the project. The movie was called ‘Mungaru Male’ and came out in 2006. It went on to become a huge commercial and critical success, breaking records by earning the highest box office collections ever in Kannada cinema.

It ran for over a year at the theaters. Its enormous success releases a sequel in 2016. In 2008, he produced another movie called Moggina Manasu, under his production banner E.K. Entertainers. The film revolved around teenage and the issues related to it like relationships, teen pregnancy, etc. The film earned critics appreciations and was a huge box office hit. In the year 2010, Mathe Mungaru was released. It was a biopic based on the life and imprisonment of Narayan Mandagadde, a man from Karnataka who was jailed for 21 years in Pakistan. In December of 2011, Krishnappa was accused of illegal land grabbing. A man named Venkatachalam along with eight other complainants filed a case against him in the Lokayukta Office stating that the MLC had taken possession of five acres and 36 guntas (approximately 39,200 square feet) of the land initially owned by Madugiriappa (as of 1992) by using fake documents. Krishnappa went on to get bail and subsequently, in 2014, the case was dismissed by the Karnataka High Court on the basis that the land was disputed. As of August 2015, in his power as Member of the Legislative Council of rural district Bengaluru, he inaugurated the 685th branch of Karnataka Bank Limited, a city-based private bank, at Budihal grama panchayat.
