Chahat Khanna was born in Mumbai on 28 July 1986. She started her acting career at a very young age. She was only 16 when she had her first camera appearance. In 2002 she had her debut acting performance on an advertisement of Cadbury together with . Her talent and fantastic acting skills didn't remain unnoticed. Chahat Khanna acted in her first TV show the same year, a show called Sachi Baat Sabhi Jag Jane. Her acting career continues to blossom with her roles in several other TV shows, such as Hello Dollie, Shaka Laka Boom Boom, Kumkum - Pyara Sa Bandhan, Hero Bhakti Hi Shakti Hai, Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna and her last TV acting was in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Currently she is acting as Nida in the soap opera on Zee TV called . Chahat Khanna performed brilliantly in several Bollywood movies as well. Her film debut was in the movie called The Film in 2005, after which she acted in 7.5 Phere the same year. Her next role was in the movie Ek Main Ek Tum from 2010, and in 2011 she acted in Thank you where she played the role of Kanishka (Kuku).

Regarding her personal life, it is well known that Chahat Khanna is a supporter of animal rights and she is an animal welfare officer with Karuna Pariwar NGO. She loves cooking, reading and writing. Her love life started when she was 16 years old, and after 4 years she married Bharat Narsinghani. The marriage lasted for several months and she divorced Bharat Narsinghani due to physical abuse. Chahat Khanna lastly dated Farhan Mirza and they got married in February 2013.
