Mehmood Jr is an Indian actor, singer and Marathi director. His real name is Naeem Sayyed. Mehmood was born in 1956 in Mumbai. He got the name Mehmood Junior from the great actor of all time . Mr. Ali gave him this name in 1972 when he was selected for National Award for ‘Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani’.

Mehmood Junior acted in more than 250 films of seven different languages. He also directed six Marathi films. Some of his notable roles can be seen in Anjana, Raja Sahab, Phulbari, Lovers, Do Raste, Kati Patang, Faristhta, Suhaag Raat, , Jaye toh Jaye Kaha, Journey Bombay to Goa, Taxi Taxie, Jaadu Tona, etc.

In 1968, he acted in Suhaag Raat as Bane. Bane is the friend of Jeetu. The role of Jeetu was done by Jeetender. The story of the movie revolves around a girl who gets widowed at her first night but someone record her personal moments and blackmailed her.

In 1980, Mehmood Jr played a role in the movie Geet Gata Chal. Jr played the role of Bankhe in the movie. Bankhe was the servant of Shyam and Radha. The role of Shyam and Radha was done by Sachin and Sarika. Bankhe was a cute and innocent person. The film was directed by . This is one of highest earning film of 80’s.

In 2007, he acted in the comedy film Journey Bombay to Goa. He plays the role mad doctor in the film. The story line of the movie revolves around the bus journey from Bombay to Goa. Film was directed by Raj Penderkar. Movie contains a lot of comedians.

On 8th December 2023, Mehmood Jr passed away after fighting stomach cancer.
