Aashu Patel

Aashu Patel, also known by his official name Ashwinkumar Khant. He is a screenplay writer born on July 18, 1968, in a small village named Jam Sakhpur in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat. Patel left home when he was 18 to pursue his dream of becoming a journalist in Mumbai. In 1987, after moving to Mumbai, he began his career as a reporter for the Gujarati magazine Abhiyaan. Later, he became the Chief Reporter at Yuvadarshan magazine in 1989 and worked for Udaan weekly. Patel edited a magazine from 1991 to 1993. He joined Gujarat Samachar in 1995 as a special correspondent and worked for some time for Mumbai Samachar as a special correspondent. He was appointed Resident Editor of Sandesh Newspaper in January 1998 and served until April 2003.

In 2003, he was appointed City News Editor of Gujarat Samachar's Mumbai edition. He then worked as the Resident Editor at GujaratMitra before returning to Gujarat Samachar as the City News Editor. He is currently the Editor and Founder of Cocktail Zindagi, Gujarat's only premium monthly magazine. Patel co-produced two Hindi plays, "Aakhir Kyon?" in 2002 and "K...K...Kiran" in 2006.
