Aneesh Narath is an Indian short film director who principally works in the Malayalam industry. One of the unique aspects of Aneesh is, he is a 12th-grade teacher who makes short films that are centered majorly around women's safety, empowerment, and dreams. Aneesh Narath was born on 16th February 1969 and brought up in Cherukunnu, Kerala. He completed his high and middle school at KambilMopla Higher Secondary School, Kambil, and finished his Bachelor's in Math at the University of Calicut in 1992.

Aneesh Narath went on to complete his Master's in Maths from the University of Kerala. He serves as an academic teacher at Deenul Islam Sabha Girls Higher Secondary School. Apart from being a teacher for school students, Aneesh Narath had a passion for film making and screenwriting. In 2010, he directed his first original short film titled ‘The Prey,' which talks about organizational negligence in protecting women.

Aneesh Narath received several accolades for this short film, including special recognition at Kerala State Television Award 2010. It also earned the Best Short Film award at the NGO Union Golden jubilee short film festival held at Palakkad. Aneesh Narath made two more short films titled Diya and Shadeless, respectively, which also focuses on the lives of the women in the rural area. It got screened at several international film festivals such as the Safe Community Film Festival, Girls Impact the World Film Festival, and Iconoclast Short-film Festival Mumbai. It also won the Editor's Choice award at Mairer Medi Short Film Festival Pune and was even screened at several schools and colleges. Notably, New India Express, a leading news magazine in India, did an exclusive story on Aneesh Narath and his women-centric short films. Aneesh Narath is married and has a daughter. He continues his service as a teacher at a higher secondary school and hopes to create more impactful films in the future.
