Priya Seth is an Indian cinematographer working in the Indian film industry. Before foraying into films she spent years in making ad films. That was where she realized she wanted to be part of this whole image making exercise and chose cinematography. Starting her career with ad films, her experience of more than 18 years has given her the privilege to work with highly reputed brands like Pears, Parachute, Dove, Café Coffee Day and a lot more. She has assisted director Raja Menon on many of them, her first being for the car company Ford. After working with Raja Menon for Barah Aana in 2009, she came on board as a cinematographer for the 2016 super hit movie Airlift almost a year after everyone.

The producers were skeptical of having her on the team, but Raja Menon fought with the producers and convinced them to hire her. Airlift which was based on the evacuation of one lakh seventy thousand Indians from Kuwait when Iraq invaded the city nation in August 1990, provided her the opportunity to showcase her talent on a huge canvas and she grabbed it with both hands. She received tremendous praise and compliments for her camerawork in the movie. Seth is one of the few female cinematographers in India today who is making her mark by doing quality work and giving her male counterparts a run for their money. She still considers advertising very close to her heart. As she says— “We are image makers at the end of the day.”
