Sumit had dreamed of being an actor from quite a young age and actively participated in school plays and dramas throughout her school days. She started her career in 2017 as a model for print advertisements and television commercials. Throughout her advertisement career, she has worked with famed brands like Mamaearth and Amazon Prime for TV ads and Sephora and Croma for print advertisements.

She has starred in multiple Haryanavi music videos as well, including songs like JaatniKaPyar (2018) by BobyFouji, Daru Ka Stock (2019) by Amit Saini Rohtakiya Singer, lyricist and producer Amit Saini Rohtakiya >> Read More... , Bas Kar (2020) by Saransh Peer, Baatein (2023) by Anish Chhabra and much more. Sumit made her debut in Bollywood with a Hindi romantic thriller film Amaris, in 2022. In 2023, she starred in the crime drama Ajmer 92. Her first television debut was with the Hindi serial Mithai, airing on Zee TV, where she played the antagonist. The following year, she worked in Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet, and in 2023, bagged her most famous role on the show Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin.
