Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner is an American socialite and television celebrity who became famous for the series “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Her original name is Kristen Mary Houghton. On November 5, 1955, Kris was born in the city of San Diego. Her mother’s name is Mary Jo Shannon, and Robert Houghton is her father. Kris has a diverse ethnicity as her ancestors hailed from five countries: Germany, England, Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland. Kris had a difficult childhood as her parents got divorced when she was aged seven. Later, her mother tied the knot with Harry Shannon, a businessman. Kris went to Clairemont High School, San Diego. After graduating from the institution, she tried her hand in the aviation sector where she operated as a flight attendant for a short duration.

In 1978, Kris married Robert Kardashian, one of the most-sought lawyers in the USA. She had four children with him: Kourtney, Kim Kardashian-West, Khloe, and Rob. Robert and Kris decided to end their marriage in 1991. Despite the separation, they continued to have mutual respect for each other until the lawyer died of oesophageal cancer in the year 2003. In 1991, after some days of divorce, Kris got hitched to Bruce Jenner, a retired athlete who had represented the USA at the Olympics. With Bruce, she has two kids: Kendall and Kylie. Kris also happens to be the stepmother to Burt, Cassandra, Brandon, and Brody. Kris went through emotional problems during the much-talked OJ Simpson trial in which Robert was a part of Simpson’s defense team. Then, she assisted her husband Bruce by acting as his manager. As a result of regular interaction with media, she enhanced her negotiation skills. Initially, Kris tried to project Bruce as a race-car driver.

In 2004, Kris launched “Smooch,” a children’s boutique. But, the shop shut its doors after running for five years. In 2007, Kris got in contact with Ryan Seacrest and pitched her idea of a reality show focussed on the lives of Kardashian-Jenner family members. Seacrest liked the concept and gave his nod to pursue the project. On October 14, 2007, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” aired on the channel “E!” for the first time with Kris serving as one of the executive producers. Due to the presence of her daughters which include Kim, the show got a high viewership on a regular basis. It resulted in the broadcast of its spin-offs like Khloe and Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, & Kourtney and Khloe Take New York. As of May 2016, KUWTK got renewed for its twelfth season.

In 2013, Bruce and Kris broke up after two decades of their married life. After two years of separation, Bruce underwent a sex-change operation after which she took the name, Caitlyn. However, Kris rejected the gender issue as the reason for their divorce. She also admitted to having an affair with Todd Waterman and wrote about their relationship in her memoir. Incidentally, Todd made a special appearance on KUWTK and shared a scene with Kris as well. She also hosted “Kris,” a chat show on Fox. Eventually, it got canceled after its poor response. Jenner has also been in the news for wrong reasons too. Apparently, the tabloids reported her involvement in the sale of Kim Kardashian’s infamous to which she has reportedly denied. Kris has appeared on the cover of various lifestyle magazines, and Kris posed with her daughters for the front page of Cosmopolitan. People regard Kris as one of the influential female celebrities in the entertainment world, and she did not prove them wrong either. Jenner has earned the nickname “Momager” due to her exceptional handling of both the responsibilities as a mother and manager.
