Katy Mixon

Born in Pensacola, Florida, Katy Mixon is an American actress, who did her schooling in Birmingham, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida. Moreover, she acquired her degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. First, she had to play “Calpurnia” in the Utah Shakespearean Festival’s exhibition (2001) of Shakespeare’s “Julius Caeser”, and that’s where her career in acting initiated. Then, in the year 2003, she shifted to Los Angeles, California. In the year 2005, she was featured in the interactive theater play, “American Standard”, which was displayed at the Los Angeles Edgefest.

Her debut project in the film industry was “The Quiet”, a horror-thriller movie, in the year 2005. Further down the line, she starred in the movie, “Blind Dating”, which was a mix of two genres, romance, and comedy, although she had the ancillary role. She was Jon Favreau’s younger wife in the movie, “Four Christmases” (2008), which was a major role for her in her acting career. Then in the year 2009, she was approached with three projects, “The Informers”, “State of Play”, and “All about Steve”. She was also in the HBO comedy series, “Eastbound and Down” as April Buchanon.

In the comedy television show, “Mike and Molly”, she starred as the character of “Victoria Flynn” and her performance was so entertaining that “Vanity” magazine tagged her as the “funniest part” of the show. However, she was only a part of three episodes. Finally, Mixon got the first ever leading role in her acting career in the television series, “American Housewife” in the year 2016.
