Simon Helberg

Helberg was born on December 9th, 1980 in Los Angeles California.  His mom is actor Sanddy Helberg and his father is casting director Harriet Helberg.  Helberg was raised Jewish and attended Crossroads School in Santa Monica California.  He attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and later trained with the Atlantic Theater Company.  This all solidified his desire to pursue show biz.  Helberg’s start came as the comedic sketch duo Simon and Derek which he performed in alongside his friend Derek.  Helberg spun three TV films off of this duo, even at one point striking a deal with HBO.  Simon Helberg also had a one year period as a cast member of MadTv.  Helbeg appeared in Van Wilder in 2002 as a geek.  He also played a minor role in Old School in 2003.  He also appeared in the 2004 film, A Cinderella Story with Hillary Duff and Chad Michael Murray Born on August 24, 1981, Chad Michael Murray is an >> Read More... .  He also portrayed small parts on Arrested Development and in George Clooney’s 2005 film, Good Night and Good Luck.  In 2007 Helberg’s acting caught the attention of director Chuck Lorre and was cast as Howard Wolowitz on the hit TV Show The Big Bang Theory.  The show has now become a multi-award winning show.  Helberg is married to Jocelyn Towne.
