He completed his graduation in 1964 from Putney School. Jeffrey took admission at Lawrence University. His acting in university appreciated. He recruited by Tyrone Guthrie for Guthrie Theater. In 1969, he studied music and arts at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. For three years, he followed Stratford Theatre in Stratford, Ontario.
