George Carlin

George Carlin is a well-known American actor; standup comedian, author, and social critic. He is best known for his comedy show, ‘The George Carlin Show.' He was born on the 12th of May in the year 1937. He was born as George Denis Patrick Carlin to parents, Patrick Carlin, and Mary Beary Carlin. His father was the advertising manager of the famous tabloid, The Sun, and his mother was a secretary by profession. George started his school education at Corpus Christi School and later at Cardinal Hayes High School. He left there and joined Bishop Dubois High School and later at Salesian High School. 

After jumping from school to school, Carlin had finally decided to join the Air Force. He got trained to be a radar engineer and entered the United States Air Force. He was given duty at the Barksdale Air Force Base and was termed to be an ‘unproductive worker’ and was suspended from duty. During his career as a Radio Jockey, Carlin and Jack Burns decided to collaborate and start their comedy show. 

With the onset of the 60s, George Carlin had begun to appear in a bunch of television shows and had become a favorite in most of the television shows. Some of the well-known shows he has made appearances in are ‘The Indian Sergeant’, ‘Stupid Disc Jockeys’, and ‘The Hippie Dippie Weatherman, Al Sleet’. Both George Carlin and Jack Burns had released their album which was named, ‘Burns and Carlin at the Playboy Club Tonight’, in 1963, although it was recorded in 1960. After a successful partnership of two-three years, Burns and Carlin had decided to retire from their partnership and carry on with their individual careers. 

Carlin got married to Brenda Hosbrook in 1961. Unfortunately in 1997, she passed away due to liver cancer. In 1998, George again got married to Sally Wade. George passed away on June 22nd in the year 2008 due to a cardiac arrest. He passed away just two days before his tenth wedding anniversary.
