Dia Sokol Savage is a producer, director, and writer for cinema and television in the United States. Sokol Savage grew up in Denver, Colorado, after being born in West Virginia. Dia came to Boston after college, and began working for documentary filmmaker Errol Morris on many projects, two of which were "Mr. Death (1999)," "The Fog of War (2003)," and his American television series "First Person (2000)." She met Justin Rice there, who introduced her to Andrew Bujalski on the day he returned to Boston from Los Angeles, for whom she had produced two films later.

Dia travelled to the Arkansas bayou in 2006 to create Alex Karpovsky's film " Woodpecker Woodpecker is a Hindi web series released by risin >> Read More... ." She was nominated for the Piaget Producers Award at the Independent Spirit Awards in 2010. Dia's feature film directorial debut, "Sorry, Thanks," premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival in 2009 and was eventually distributed by IFC Films, a US-based film production and distribution company. The principal characters in her film were Wiley Wiggins and Kenya Miles. For her efforts on this picture, she received the Adrienne Shelley Director's Grant. She had also produced several TV series, some of which were Wife Swap (2004), Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (2006), #1 Single (2006), Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane (2007), etc.

With her producing partner Morgan J. Freeman, she currently heads "11th Street Productions." She is well appreciated and mainly known for her work as an executive producer of MTV's smash series “16 & Pregnant (2009)" and the "Teen Mom" franchise. "Mutual Appreciation (2005)" and "Beeswax (2009)", had also received much appraisal from the audience and critics.
