Plot

Dangerous Dan is a radio DJ, who is struggling with a long shift during Christmas. While his broadcast was going on, he noticed little disturbance at the local mall. A series of four stories is noticed by Dan, while he kept playing the music. He gets notice of four separate disturbances all over town.

First story - Three students named Dylan, Ben, and Molly have decided to intervene in their school, which used to be a convent. They were there to investigate the matter of murder of two students that occurred in the school basement about a year ago. Are they going to find some substantial evidence? The rest of the story revolves around it.

Second story - A police officer named Scott Peters was on leave from his duty due to a trauma that he faced while investigating a murder case. Despite his wife’s unwillingness, he convinces his family to go into the woods of “Big Earl” to cut down the Christmas tree for their house. During the trek, Peter’s son goes missing. The rest of the story continues with interesting twists.

Third Story - Taylor and Diane started a journey with their children Caprice and her younger brother Duncan. They decided to visit their Aunt Edda. Reaching there, Edda informs them about a mythological creature Krampus, later that evening Duncan Purposely destroys a model of Krampus to annoy the caretaker, which agitates Caprice. On Edda’s suggestion, the family left her house but they got into an accident, forcing them to walk. They knew they were being haunted by Krampus. The rest of the story exhibits the horrible night.

Fourth Story - While Santa Claus is busy preparing gifts on a Christmas Eve, he discovers that his Elves and his wife have turned into zombies. He manages to fight against all of them but now it is time to fight against Krampus. The rest of the story is served with a surprising twist.

Star Performance

All the characters of the movie were entertaining, and the cast was also rightly chosen. Especially, Dan as a radio DJ was fun to watch. The film's atmospheric cinematography also captures the essence of a winter wonderland that delivers a realistic and accurate feel of Christmas.

Analysis

"A Christmas Horror Story" is a wild, bloody, and brilliantly fun horror gem. It is Something fun as well as scary. The scenes are perfect and believable, the script is hilarious, and Shatner does an amazing job as the likable DJ trying to keep Christmas going while darkness rains down around our characters. But some scenes in the movie are unnecessarily crude and seem like overkill with the language used well and the character stories are left a bit open-ended with no true endings. But the movie is capable of pulling you in due to its visually festive, fun, and glorious storytelling.

What’s There?

  • The movie delivers seamlessly warm and spine-chilling horror.
  • The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat.

What’s Not There?

  • The story may leave you a little curious at the end as they leave behind some open ends.

Verdict

The movie feels like a fun little Christmas holiday horror anthology that winds up feeling too adventitious for its good. It is a very good movie option on Christmas Eve.
