Dr Ravindra Mishra Katyayan was born on 10 March 1967 in Lucknow. Born with many talents, he joined The Indian Air Force and served the country as a Radar Technician from 1985 to 1997. He did M. A. in Hindi Literature Diploma and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in 1992. In The Air Force, he got posted to many places in India, including Punjab, Karnataka, Assam, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan. He retired early from The Air Force in 1997 and pursued Ph. D. in Hindi Journalism and PG Diploma in Journalism in 1998. He has visited numerous countries for academic work, and research, which include Japan, America, Thailand, Indonesia, Dubai, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, and Cambodia. He has been a member of NCERT, New Delhi as a Subject Expert from 2005 to 2008, and the Subject Expert at the Central Hindi Directorate from 2014 onwards.

He has done up to 5 international MOUs with universities and institutions abroad. His writing is widespread and voluminous, including fifty research papers in magazines and journals. He has published two story collections, six books on criticism, two textbooks and around fifty research papers in Hindi, and five articles in English, printed in various media types. His awards include securing the 2nd prize for the story “Kahani Yahin Khatma Nahin Hoti” at the All India story writing competition 2000. He also bagged the 3rd prize in a playwriting competition in 2020 for the play “Maa...Tumhari Bahut Yaad Aa Rahi Hai”. He was honored with Rashtrabhasha Alankaran by Chhattisgarh Rashtrabhasha Samiti in Raipur in 2018.

He has also written a feature film called “Yeh Hai Paranormal Ishq” in 2018 and TOMCHI, which is ready for release along with various TV serials and scripts for EPIC Channel, DD National, DD Bharati, All India radio, etc. His book “Court Martial Fir Se” was awarded “BEST SHORT STORIES” by the governor of Maharashtra at the 1st Yatha Katha International Film and Literature Festival held in Mumbai on 28th November 2021 at Maniben Nanavati Women’s College. His teaching career is quite impressive with over 11 years of UG teaching experience at Maniben Nanavati Women’s College, Mumbai, as well as 16 years of PG teaching at Pune University, Pune, Goa University, SNDT Women’s College, Mumbai. Along with all this, he also maintains his blog and continues to write more material.
