Indian folk artist Saurav Maithani works in Pahari language. He was born on 1st July 1995. Saurav's birthplace is Kuvila Khal Gram Sabhi in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. His father is a professional chef and his mother is a Garhwali folk singer. He also got a young brother. Saurav completed his schooling from Evergreen Modern School and then Shri Gururamrai Patel Nagar in Dehradun. He learned music from Bharatkhande Sanskriti Mahavidhyalaya in 2012. He studied MA in music from Srinagar Garhwal University. He started music when he was in school in class 10th, and he lead his school to win the inter-school championship which got the attention of the judge Hari Prasad Kaushal, who was a renowned theatre artist.
He started his career as a dancer with Hari Prasad, and is well-known for the film 'Anjwal.' He began as singer in 2013, when he was registered as folk singer with Akashvani Nazimabad. In 2015, Saurav was selected as a 'A grade' artist by Uttarakhand Cultural Department. Saurav's first song was 'Khutiyon Maa Jhaveri' under the banner of Poorna Films. Some of his famous songs include 'Nanu Padhanu,' 'Sapna Syali,' 'Wakhi Meru Goun,' 'Bijuli,' 'Surma Pyari,' 'Pyari Nirmala,' 'Haye Myara Bachpan,' and 'Pahadon Ko Raibasi.' He do singing shows in the college events. Saurav got best singer award for his song 'Pahadon Ko Raibasi' in Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards in 2024. He performs at various cities across the country on festivals and concerts.
