Joydeep Mukherjee

Joydeep Mukherjee is an Actor and a Director, prominently in the Bengali television and film industry. He was born on 5th February 1967. Mukherjee began by starting his ad agency after graduation (B. Com). In 1991, he started his acting career in the theater which continued till 1997. In 2008 he ventured into direction and started directing television drama serial, Ekhane Aakash Neel.

In 2016, he worked in an Indo-Bangla joint production thriller drama film Shikari; this was his debut movie as a director. He collaborated with Zakir Hussain Manto for this project. Shikari went on to become the highest-grossing Bengali film in 2016. One of the songs in the movie, ‘Harabo Toke Niye’, received a tremendous response across social media platforms, especially YouTube; it broke records by reaching 1 million views within thirty-six hours of posting.
