She has a younger sibling, and her father Ganesh Rao was a famous & well-known actor in Kannada, and her mother, Leelavathi, is a Government staff Nurse. Navya Rao completed her M.Com and was a passionate western dancer & a good swimmer who wanted to be a lecturer. Her family encouraged her to opt for the Acting Profession. During her college days, she got an opportunity to act in a reality show which is shot in a forest for three months.
