Rangana Premaratne is a Sri Lankan actor and teledrama producer. He was born on January 12, 1959, in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka, and studied at Thurstan College and Maliyadeva College. He began his career on stage with Sajan Nallathambi, a Sri Lankan play that gained popularity even in the Middle East and became a financial success. He entered the silver screen in the 1987 teledrama Gamana, directed by K.A.W Perera.
