Kalpana Priyadarshini or Kalpana was born in 1965 in Kerala. She is one of the most popular actresses in comic roles in Malayalam.  She won the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress for the movie Tanichalla Njan in 2012. Her parents were theatre artists and her sisters Kalaranjini and Urvashi are both famous actresses in South Indian Films. She started acting as a child artist.
