Srinagar Kitty is an actor renowned for his work in Kannada films and television series. His real name is Krishna, but he uses his screen name Srinagar Kitty. He was born on July 8, 1977, in a joint family in Bangalore and is the youngest child. He started his career as a child artist in television series after which he made his film debut in 2003 with the movie Chandra Chakori where he enacted a negative character. He has portrayed negative characters in movies like Gowdru, Love Story, Aadhi, Ayya and Vishnusene. Inthi Ninna Preethiya starred Kitty as the lead protagonist which won him positive reviews and acclaims for his performance. Following his success, he acted in many films like Mathe Mungaru, Savaari, Hudugaru including Sanju Weds Geetha. His success guaranteed him a place in Kannada films as a lead actor. He has won the Filmfare Special Jury Award for his work in the movie Saawari. Before starting a career in films he has played lead roles in TV serials aired by ETV, Suvarna and Udaya channels the most prominent TV series in which he has worked are Chandrika, Preethigagi, Ananda Sagara, Bhoomi and Mane Mane Kathe. The character of Lord Ram for 104FM Bangalore’s radio program Radio Ramayana featured his voice. The 2014 movie Bahuparak had him portraying three roles together and the track Simple Preethige was sung by him as well. Kitty is married to Bhavana Belegere who is a TV producer, his father-in-law is Ravi Belegere noted writer, journalist and TV presenter.
