Surdas is a Hindi-language televised show on Doordarshan. This show is a dramatized retelling of the life of Surdas, one of the revered Hindu poets and devotional singers. The show was a labor child of famous scriptwriter M R Virmani. Surdas, the show narrated the supreme devotion Surdas had for Lord Vishnu, his influence over the people surrounding him and his selfless dedication toward a life of Karma. The cinematic depiction of Surdas's life dedicated to God was motivating, and people loved every bit of the series. Surdas is one of the old Doordarshan gems that deserve a rerun just for the brilliant character portrayal and the retelling of the life of a historical giant.
