1. Archana Puran Singh

Archana Puran Singh is an Indian TV artist and presenter; she is also a film actress. She was born on September 26, 1962 at Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Archana was married to Indian film director and actor, Parmeet Sethi. They were blessed with two kids namely, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. She is popular for doing comedic roles in Bollywood and as a jury in some comedy shows such as Sony TV India’s Comedy Circus. She became popular for her iconic English teacher role as Miss Briganza in the Hindi romantic comedy drama film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She was also starred in the Indian musical romantic drama film, Mohabbatein as Preeto and Zohra in Bollywood romantic action comedy film, Bol Bachchan. She was also the boss of Priya and Honey in the science fiction film, Krrish. Archana was a constant jury in the reality comedy show, Comedy Circus. She was judging the show since 2006 and the only jury who have appeared in the entire episodes of the show. 

She was also successful on doing a popular Band-Aid ad in Mumbai and started getting many offers in doing ad-films. The Band-Aid ad was under the production of Bollywood director, Jalal Agha who noticed Archana’s talent so he include her in the lead role of the show, Mr and Mrs. Her next successful break was from the Indian detective series, Karamchand under the direction of Pankaj Parashar. Archana was debuted in year 1987 in the film, Jalwa together with Naseeruddin Shah. However, even if the movie was a hit, Archana didn’t get the attention of some of the top producers and directors. So at first, she got offers for B-grade films only which are usually short and more on semi-porn films. Later on, she appeared with small roles in films like Raja Hindustani in 1996, Aashiq Awara in 1993, Shola Aur Shabnam in 1992, Saudagar in 1991 and Agneepath in 1990. Archana also did item songs in movies like Baaz and Judge Mujrim. 

After that, she massively limits herself in doing supporting roles in Hindi, mostly in comedies. Her recent films are Love Story 2050, Masti, Mohabbatein, Krrish, Masti, Bol Bachchan and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai where she received the Star Screen Award for Best Comedian and was nominated by Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role in 1999. But she was positively recognized for her flirty role as a college teacher in the super hit movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Krrish. In 2009, she was featured in the Punjabi film, Tera Mera Ki Rishta. In 1993, she started anchoring on TV. She has her own show entitled, Wah, Kya Scene Hain under Zee TV. Following with the popular and very successful, Uncensored where she proposed the High and Low Society or the HS and LS concept. She also did sitcoms like, Shrimaan Shrimati, Archana Talkies and Jaane Bhi Do Paro. 

Archana also joined the dance reality show on Star Plus, Nach Baliye (Season 1) along with her husband in 2005 but both were eliminated on the 6th episode. Then the couple hosted the Season 1 of the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. From then, she started to be a jury on comedy shows such as the Season 1 and 2 of the Comedy Circus show. In 2008, she became the host of Star Plus’ Kaho Na Yaar Hai along with her husband. When the second season of the Comedy Circus ended, she hosted another show, Comedy Circus – Kaante Ki Takkar then Comedy Circus – Teen Ka Tadka, Comedy Circus Superstar and more.

2. Tariq Yunus

Tariq Yunus was an Indian actor. He worked in several movies and television shows. He was born before the Partition in Karachi when it was part of Indian territory. He was born on 16th October 1946. He is known for his work in various movies such as We'll think of something as Dr. Khan in 1986, Around the world in 80 days as Prince Bayinnaung in 1989, Shalom Shalaam as Imam in 1989, On the line as Ali Jamil in 1982, Rosie Dixon in 1978, The Deceivers in 1988, Ashanti in 1978, East of Elephant Rock in 1979 and many others. He worked in some noted TV shows such as Tandoori Nights in 1985, House of Cards in 1990, The Crezz in 1976, etc. Tariq Yunus died when he was 48 on 26th August 1994 in Mumbai.

Jalal Agha was born in 1946. He was an actor and a renowned director in the Bollywood industry. Jalal’s father was the well-liked Indian comedian, Agha, who was well known for his comic timings. 4. Joy Augustine

Joy Augustine is a filmmaker in Bollywood Film Industry who hails from the state of Goa in India and holds the experience of about 30 years in the entertainment industry. He has worked in many feature films, documentaries, commercials, television programming and ad-campaigns as a director, producer, and writer. Some of his famous Hindi feature films are Tere Mere Sapne and Goonj.These films have earned him remarkable achievements. In 1990, he got nominated for Indian Filmfare Award under the category of Best Writer for his film Goonj and in the year 1996, he got nominated for Screen Awards under the category of Best Debutant Director for film Tere Mere Sapne. 5. Jayant Kripalani

Jayant Kripalani is a prominent Indian stage, film and television actor. He is also a renowned writer, filmmaker and trainer. He received his degree in English Literature at Jadavpur University. His father runs a laundry business in Calcutta. 


His career started as a theatre actor and this happened during the 70 were when he accompanied his friend, who was supposed to play as Hamlet in a play, and the director asked him to read the play. Though he was hesitant to do it at first, he read the lines and went to a pub for a drink. The director came to him and told him that he is the one fitted for the role. That’s when he got his first acting role. 


Hamlet became the turning point in his career as it was followed by The Merchant of Venice, Sleuth, The Dumb Waiter and many more. At first, Jayant’s family was not very supportive of his decision to work in theatres. His father never came to watch him on his plays, and they hardly talk to each other, which lasted for a year. Until his mother made a deal to his father to watch one of his plays and since then, he came to his entire play. 


In the late 70’s, he has been into documentary filmmaking and advertising, from where he met Gulan, his wife, who’s working as an advertising professional. In the year 1982, he was offered to do an ad after he was spotted in one of his plays. He has done an ad for Vicks, which runs for 15 years. This was followed by some ads by Limca, which runs until the 80’s. 


Subsequently, television happened to him. He was best remembered in television series Mr Ya Mrs. He also acted as the husband of Neena Gupta in Khandan and played as Rajnath Mathur in his last television series, Ji Mantriji. He quit working in television and took a hiatus. He went to the US with his wife and when he returned to India, he was offered to do a summer theatre camp for the Sitlakhet children in the Himalayas. 


Later, he started a program called Beats Work, where the employees of Walt Disney India were made to play percussion. Jayant entered the film industry through Shyam Benegal’s Hindi film, Arohan in 1982. He acted in the romantic drama film, Heat and Dust in 1983 and Manohar Singh-starrer Party in 1984. 


He was also seen in movies like Trikal, Susman, Pehla Nasha and Rockford. Jayant also acted in the Bollywood films, Chupke Se in 2003 and Alag in 2006. He was remembered for his role as Genelia D’Souza’s father in the blockbuster hit film, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na in 2008 and then, he played a supporting role in Arjun Bali’s Ru Ba Ru in the same year. 


Jayant played as an interviewer in Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots in 2009 and this year, he acted in the biographical film, Hawaaizaada. He penned the script for the original television series, Ghar Jamai, which was aired on Doordarshan channel. Jayant also wrote and produced a miniseries entitled PC Aur Mausi. The actor together with some friends is now running a company called Exper, which aims to establish leadership and organisational strategies for many businesses. They also launched Catalyst India, who intends to make entertaining shows and workshops for corporate’s activities. It is being supported by Google and Walt Disney.
