Pankaj Kapur is a prominent Indian actor and director who has shown his talent through various mediums such as theatre, television and film actor from Ludhiana, Punjab, India. He is a screenwriter, director as well as an actor, a multi-talented personality. Pankaj has appeared in several acclaimed television serials and films. Some of his film roles that are remembered till date include characters of Inspector P.K. in Raakh, Dr. Dipankar Roy in Ek Doctor Ki Maut as well as Abba ji, (based on Shakespeare's King Duncan) in Vishal Bhardwaj's reworked copy of Macbeth; Maqbool .All of these three critically acclaimed roles received appreciation, and the actor got National Film Awards for the same. Pankaj along with his colleagues Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, Manoj Bajpai as well as Irrfan Khan are regarded as the "Walking Acting school of India". His charm reached the household in the 1980s, with his popular detective TV series ‘Karamchand’ with a tinge of comedy. He made an impactful comeback to television with a comic satire on widespread red-tape practices in India, named Office Office, which was critically acclaimed. His first film Arohan (1982) was directed by the highly talented director, Shyam Benegal. Apart from this, he has played the pivotal role of Mahatma Gandhi's second secretary, ‘Pyarelal’ in the film Gandhi directed by Richard Attenborough. Later on, he dubbed the Hindi Version of the film for Ben Kingsley. From then on he made an appearance in a series of art films that were categorized as the parallel cinema category. He is married to Supriya Pathak and has 3 children Shahid Kapur (from Neelima Azeem), Ruhaan and Sana.

Mrinal Sen was a renowned and highly skilled Indian film director. Mrinal was born on 14 May 1923 in Faridpur, Bengal Presidency, British India (currently in Bangladesh). Sen has directed various famous films like Raat Bhore, Neel Akasher Neechey, Baishey Shravana, Maitra Manisha, Ek Adhuri Kahani, Calcutta 71, Chorus, Mrigayaa, Kharij, Genesis, Antares, and the list continues. His core focus was on Hindi and Bengali films. Mrinal’s direction positively influenced the whole Indian cinema. He was the only director in India (along with Satyajit Ray) whose films received awards at the three biggest film festivals, Cannes Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, and Berlin Film Festival.
