Hindi Movie Review Dishkiyaoon - Cast & Crew

A model turned actress, producer, entrepreneur and now, mom, Shilpa Shetty has excelled in every field she’s touched so far. Born in the city of dreams, Bombay, started off as a model in the advertising industry with a Limca commercial. She went on to do more ad-films and pretty soon landed her first movie Baazigar (1993) directed by the popular duo Abbas-Mastaan, famous for their bone-chilling thrillers. The movie earned her Filmfare nominations for Best Actress in a supporting role and Lux new face of the year. These became the first of many awards she went on to receive in her career over the years. With over 40 movies on her tab, she has acted not only in Hindi but also in the languages of Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil.

Ayesha Khanna is an Actress, belonging to the Hindi Film Industry. This innocent looking beauty is a young heroine, who recently entered Bollywood, in the year 2014. Before stepping in front of the camera, Ayesha was a costume designer. She was the designer and stylist for a few Yash Raj Chopra movies, such as Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.

Prashant Narayanan is a renowned Indian actor, born in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, India. He was raised up in Delhi and studied at Kirori Mal College of Delhi University, where he became a badminton state champion. He also joined Act 1, a theatre group at school. In year 1991, the actor moved to Mumbai with a plan to make his own ad agency. He initiated his career as an assistant art director in films like Rukmavati Ki Haveli, Saudagar and Sardari Begum.

He was also the costume director of the historical drama series, Chanakya on DD National. Later, he started to act in plays again and subsequently received an offer for television shows such as Shagun, Parivartan, Jaane Kaha Mera Jigar Gaya Ji, Farz, Kabhi Kabhie and Gatha. His first film role was from the movie, Chhal by Hansal Mehta in 2002. The film received mixed reviews from the critics but his performance as a hitman who works in the underworld of Mumbai was well appreciated. Later, he acted as Vishnu in the film, Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II, the directorial debut of Shashanka Ghosh.

His character was quite similar to his character in Chhal, but he gained appreciations by the critics. In 2004, he was starred as Ravi Gupta in the Bengali language German film, Shadows of Time by the award winning director, Florian Gallenberger. He also played a pivotal role as Kanji Waghela in Ekta Kapoor’s Bandini on NDTV Imagine. He was roped in to do the antagonist role as Carlos in the unreleased Hindi film, Peter Gaya Kaam Se. Prashant gained more fame after essaying the role of Dheeraj Pandey in the Bollywood psychological thriller film, Murder 2; a sequel to the film, Murder in 2004.

He played as a straight man who later turned as a serial killer who kills call girls. His portrayal in the film received praises by the critics and the Best Villain at the Screen Award and the Best Actor in a Negative Role at the National Award. In 2012, the actor was seen in the Malayalam film, Edavapathi by Lenin Rajendran. ​Prashant has done films including ‘Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India!’, Mudda: The Issue, Instant Karma, Game, Summer 2007, The good Friday, The White Elephant, Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta, Peter Gaya Kaam Se, Rasgulla, Doors, Unnam, Cigarette Ki Tarah, Dee Saturday Night, 7th Day, Nedunchaalai, Amma and he is currently filming the Tamil film, Naan Thaan Siva.

Born on 13 November 1980, Harman Baweja is the son of director Harry Baweja. His mother Pammi Baweja is a producer. As per numerology, Harman Baweja changed his name as Harman S Baweja. As keen as was in acting Harman joined acting classes at the Kishore Namit Kapoor’s Acting Institute. Harman is a six-footer and has dashing looks. 

Harman made his debut in Bollywood with the film Love Story 2050 (2008) which is of the genre sci-fiction. Here he was paired with the dynamic Priyanka Chopra. This film had a different theme and a beautiful star cast. It was produced by his mother and directed by his father. Unfortunately the film failed at the box office. In fact, it brought only loss to Adlabs. All the same Harman was nominated in Film Fare Awards. 

Later Harman tried his luck in “Victory” which had an authentic touch to it since it had appearances of international and Indian cricketers. But nothing helped this film and it bombed at the box office. Another film in which he acted was “Whats your Rashee” wherein he shared screen space with Priyanka Chopra. This film also failed. Though Harman was not recognized in lead roles he was appreciated for his cameo appearance in the film “Gori Teri Pyaar Mein”. 

Harman is not only an actor, but also a good dancer. He learnt Kathak and he is compared to Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. He has been linked to Bollywood divas Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. Harman was nominated for some awards, but he didn’t receive any. 

Harman is the right example of the fact that, luck is also required to sustain stardom; though he is talented he didn’t reach heights in Bollywood. Let’s wait and see what’s in store for him in the future. Maybe Lady Luck will favor him tomorrow!

He is the eldest son of veteran actor, Dharmendra, and his first wife, Prakash Kaur. Bollywood actor, Bobby Deol, is his younger brother.

Sanamjit Talwar is an Indian film director, popular amongst the regional audience for his work in movies like Dishkiyaoon (2014). Mostly known for his major involvement in Hindi short films, TV series, dramas, theatres, and Bollywood movies, Sanamjit has been a prominent part of the South Indian film industry for more than five years now.
