Shekar Basha

RJ Shekar Basha is one of India's top Radio jockeys. Gudimela Raja Shekar was born in East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh on 6th of July, 1982. He started achieving at very young age. He is the only Indian Radio Jockey to win the IRW ( Indian Excellence in Radio Award) 9 times in a row. He has also worked as a VJ (Video Jockey) for Gemini Music in Hyderabad. He is known as "Basha" popularly by his fans and friends across the country. RJ was a choice Shekar made although he was a graduate of Computer Science. He began his career on 10th of April 2005 with Gemini Music being a VJ.

He gained fame with a show called "Hi Bujji," a kid based theme show which aired on the same channel and "Sunday-Sandeham," a comedy show. On 26th of November 2006, Shekar Basha joined Red FM 93.5 and began his career as an RJ. He hosted two shows in his first year at work and also won the award for Best Program the next year itself. The word "Kevvu Kekka" which became so popular among the mass that movies and serials were titled after it was introduced by Shekar Basha. In August 2007, Basha shifted his from Red FM to Big FM and hosted one of the most popular shows- "Big Sandadi", that was earlier hosted by Top Telugu Actors. His habit of saying "Happy Mornings" gained him immense popularity and his show was renamed from " Good Morning Raj Music Tamil Tv is a musical channel which incl >> Read More... " to "Happy Mornings." Shekar Basha had hosted over 3000 live shows when he was an RJ. He has won 15 awards at a National Level in 9 years of his career.

Apart from being an RJ, he has produced a number of award-winning promos. He also made his debut as an actor. Basha has also directed a movie named "Vethika." RJ Shekar has always tried something new and has aimed higher. He has hosted 3 RJing marathons which created a lot of buzz in the city. First, he RJ-ed 24 hours non-stop for 92,7 BIG FM in September 2007. With the purpose of peace and unity, he hosted a 100-hours on wheels live show from 12th August 2008 to 16th August 2008, and also a 106-hours on wheels show from 26th Jan 2016 to 30th Jan 2016 to highlight the use and necessity of Mobile Internet. Shekar Basha continues to be on the top of Indian RJ chart.
