S M Zaheer is one of the veteran in the Indian Television and film fraternity. Popularly known among the colleagues as Zaheer Saab, he is a very talented actor and a person with heartwarming personality. His full name is Sayed Mohammad Zaheer and he belongs to a well-educated middle class Muslim family from Barabanki District of Uttar Pradesh, India. Though S M Zaheer was passionate and wanted to act since his early childhood days,he pursued his dreams only after he had completed his engineering. He also worked for a relatively long time and had earned sufficient money to support his family. In his initial days of acting before shifting his base to Mumbai, then called Bombay he acted in dramas and became quite popular through his acting skills through one of Vijay Tendulkar’s drama in the year 1975. From then on, he started to get character role offers in various Hindi movies and serials. S M Zaheer was one of those actors to star in the flagship serials of national Doordarshan channel and Buniyaad. Zaheer Saab went on to feature in number of Hindi films also in various pivotal character roles such as – Veer Zaara, Sardari Begum, Aarakshan, My Name is Khan, Zubeidaa, Maachis, Sangharsh, etc. Among his notable Hindi serial appearances are- Saat Phere, Hum log, Buniyaad, Kayamath, Dastoor, Maryada, Kasturi, Sarrthi, Cchoti Bahu , Meri Doli tere angna, etc
