Pankaj Kansra

Pankaj Kansra is an Indian screenwriter and assistant director. He has made a substantial impact in the Hindi media industry with his contribution to movies, television shows, and web-series. Pankaj has been titled ‘Generation Artist’ by the entertainment circles for the individual flair he adds to any movie set or shoots. He moved to Mumbai from Jodhpur to pursue his dreams of being a part of India’s largest entertainment industry.

He spent his initial days in the city around famous movie studios watching the experts at work. Soon he landed his first role as an assistant director in the Hindi feature film, ‘Shaadi Teri Bajayenge Hun Band.’ His work on the set got him noticed by many production houses, and what followed was a continuous succession of jobs directing television shows, movies, music videos, and advertisements for commercial brands.

One of his most-watched shows, the web series, ‘GandiBaat’, went on to air four seasons with him assisting with its direction. Another of his famous web series is ZEE5’s teen-drama, ‘IshqAajKal.’ In 2019, he worked on the screenplay and direction of the independent short film, ‘Milkshake.’ This critically acclaimed film made him known for his talent for writing in addition to his earlier skills with cinematography.

He also wrote and directed the Gujrati dance-drama ‘Safalta 0km’ in 2020. Pankaj’s distinctive hipster style makes him stand out from the usual crowd in media circles. An avid fan of Sharukh Khan, he has styled many of his clothes in tribute to the star.
