Simple Kapadia was one of leading costume designers of Bollywood and has been one of the most remarkable actresses of the 70s-80s. The film was a terrible flop due to the scenario, but all the blame was put on Simple when she was just an 18-year-old girl. Simple did well in the film. She was a natural talent though she got marked with all the negative comments by the critics. But still, she hung on even after being young and restless; Simple Kapadia did not give up. She did a minor role in Ahsaas. Her talent flourished in Shaaka in which simple was the leading lady cast opposite Jitendra.

She played the role of an adorable thief exposing her acting talents. As the years passed on Simple acted in numerous movies. Her roles included: a sensually attractive woman in Pyar Ke do pal; a sensual dancer in Lootmaar and a character in Jeevan Dhara. Although the roles offered were secondary ones, most of the times she eclipsed the other actresses due to her beauty and talent. Even after getting several offers and after doing more than 20 movies, she decided to end her career in acting in 1987 after doing an item song in the film Parakh. Simple decided to start her career as a Costume Designer. Initially, she began designing costumes for her sister Dimple. With the time, her reputation took a new turn as a costume designer, and it culminated in the year 1994 when she won a National Award for her costume design in Rudaali.

Later, she made costumes for movies such as Shaheed, which made her one of the most sought designers of Bollywood. Simple Kapadia was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. Despite the pain, she was still designing costumes for movies. After four years of bravely battling cancer, she died at a hospital in Andheri, Mumbai on 10 November in the year 2009.
