Prema Narayan

Prema Narayan was born on 4th April 1955 in Andhra Pradesh. Anita Guha It was in the early 50s that Anita Guha, the “myt >> Read More... is her aunt. Prema is a model, dancer, and actress in Bollywood. She has done movies in Hindi and Bengali cinema.

She was also Femina Miss India World in 1971 and later went on to represent India at Miss World 1971. She was a teacher in a convent school where she taught English. However, she then chose to model.

After winning Femina Miss India World in 1971 and representing India at Miss World 1971, she was chosen to represent India at Queen of Pacific Pageant. She was crowned as the 1st runner-up in the pageant, which was held in Australia. Soon after her victory at the pageant, she was offered several Bollywood roles. She made her debut in movies with Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain in 1974.

Her performance in Maa Behan Aur Biwi as well as Manzilein Aur Bhi Hain, is highly appreciated. Prema did not curtail herself to acting in a lead role always. The industry found her more suitable for the roles of a vamp, dancer or supporting roles.

She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress for her role in Amanush, 1975 movie. It was a different role than what she generally depicted. She was commonly seen in lower-grade horror movies too. Mera Damad was the last film she did which was in 1995.
