Vierendrra Lalit

VirendraLalit is an Indian- born cinematographer, film director, and director of photography. He was born on 16 March 1969, in the village Dhimahi, Bulendshehr, Uttar Pradesh. He is related to Bollywood, Tollywood, and Malaysian cinema. He has his own two film production companies called RoopChitra Visuals and RoopChitra Films. His grandfather Sohan Pal Singh was a farmer, social activist who actively participated in the Quit India Movement, 1942 and went to jail several times. His father, Dr.Roop Kishore, now retired, is a famous scientist in genetics and plant breeding. He was also a professor at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His mother, ChitraVerma, is a homemaker and a natural-born artist, and the biggest inspiration.

Lalit completed his schooling in Sainikschool in Lucknow and received a Masters in Philosophy from DAV College, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur University. He is married to RachnaLalit, who is into Research and Writing of Films and Documentaries, also a producer. They both have two kids namedKhoobiLalit and VarenyamLalit. After completing his Diploma in Photography, Lalit went to Mumbai and joined cinematographer KabirLal. He worked as an assistant on Kaho Na PyaarHai, HumaraDilAapkePaasHai, and PremAggan, Khauff. Lalit also assisted cinematographer JohnyLal in the movie MujheKuchKehnaHai. In 2001, Lalit began working independently.

To date, he has done more than 15 Feature Films, More than 400 Ad Films, more than 200 Music videos and, 100’sCorporate and Documentaries. He is a member of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), Indian Documentary Producers Association (IDPA), Film worker association of Malaysia (PPFM),Western India Cinematographers Association (WICA), and Western India Film Producers’ Association (WIFPA).
