Ganesan, the Koothappaadi village guy, wants to make his village a developed one, at least in the basic facilities. To make his village a self-sustained one, he plans to marry the daughter of Ootthukattan, a wealthy man in Aalampaadi village. Ganesan thinks that by marrying Leelavathi, the daughter of Ootthukattan, he could get the help from his father-in-law to develop his village. But, Ganesan comes to know that Ootthukattan has vengeance in his mind and trying to revenge the Koothappaadi village people for an age old problem. What happens next? Did Ganesan solve the problem and save the village? Watch the film in theaters.
Udhayanidhi Stalin fits in the role perfectly as a rural young man. Udhay has improved a lot from his previous movies. His dance movements and facial expressions are good. Nivetha has done what is necessary for the role. Parthiepan has excelled as ever and Soori’s body language and performance are good.
The director Thalapathy Prabhu has not chosen a unique subject. His film seems to be an inspiration from a lot of previous rural subjects that released in recent years. Except for the hero’s role, the heroine, comedian and the villain roles are similar to the stereotyped rural entertainers. Although Udhayanidhi has played an ambitious village guy, we could not avoid the resemblance of the scenes from “ Sivakarthikeyan” and Soori movies that had the hero as a happy-go-lucky guy.
What’s Not There?
Although Udhayanidhi has attempted a rural guy role for the first time, the script seems to be stereotyped one. However, the film could be watched once for the rural background and performance of the Parthiepan, Soori, Udhayanidhi and Nivetha!
