Plot
A wanted serial killer in Ohio named Edward Scarka was killed while police checked his farm. At the same time, Sarah gives birth to a boy. Sarah and her husband John called the boy Miles. They lived in Pennsylvania. Miles was an intelligent kid compared to kids of his age. Sarah and her husband notices abnormal behaviour in their eight-year-old son Miles. He played a prank on his babysitter. His park leads to serious injury to his babysitter, Zoe. When Sarah questioned him about it, he says that he does not know anything. In the school, Miles tries to hurt his classmate. Sarah was shocked and decided to see psychiatrist Elaine Strasser. She also told him how Miles speaks gibberish during sleeping. They think that it is a case of rebirth and reincarnation. The thing that Sarah considered as gibberish is the Hungarian language. His nonsense means killing. What is happening to Mile? Will Sarah be able to say her son? The rest of the story deals with it.
Star Performance
Jackson Robert Scott as Miles did an surprising performance in the film. His acting was impressive. It is incredible how a young child is able to lead such a horror film. It was terrifying to image him, as a serial killer. Taylor Schilling as Sarah, did a fantastic performance in the movie. She was a great mother. She knows how to save her child. Her determination to save her son is impressive. Her character portrayed was impressive. One would hate Paul Fauteux as Edward Scarka after watching this movie. That much impact he made in the whole film. He is well described as serial killer. Paul Fauteux as Edward Scarka, and Colm Feore as Arthur Jacobson did a remarkable performance in helping Miles from Edward. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors.
Analysis
The storyline of the film was great, creepy, horrifying and scary. The film focus on the central theme of rebirth. The film is based on how serial killer mind works. The rebirth of a serial killer is the worst thing that happened to humanity is portrayed in the movie. The horror nature of the film is maintained from the start till the end. It brings a freshness to the horror genre films. The film is logical and scientific, which makes it attractive to the audience. The film is a straight front without any dramatic elements. The film has a simple and robust storyline. The background music and songs play a significant role in the movie. The dialogues were excellent.
