Prabhu Lakshman, who is popularly known as “Buddy,” passed away today, due to cardiac arrest.

Buddy is a close acquaintance to director Mani Ratnam and Suhasini Maniratnam. He has also appeared in a small role in Mani’s latest flick “O Kadhal Kanmani.”

Prabhu owns a popular college in Dindigul. He is a well-known face to all the Kollywood celebrities.

When Dulquer Salmaan, the hero of “OK Kanmani” heard about Buddy’s sad demise, he tweeted, “Shocked to hear about Buddy Prabhu's sudden and untimely passing. Was truly a buddy to me & everyone he met. Chennai has lost its best buddy :(“.
