Karthik Subbaraj Stuck In A Controversy!

Karthik Subbaraj’s “Iraivi” released recently amidst the high expectations. “S. J. Surya,” Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha, “Anjali” and Kamalinee Mukherjee played in the lead roles. Vijay Murugan played a negative role as a film producer. The controversy started that Karthik Subbaraj has created the villainy producer role, targeting Kathiresan, the producer of “Jigarthanda.” A video clip by Gnanavel Raja, one among the top producers of Kollywood has been making rounds on the internet. In the video, he says, "I listened to the concerns addressed by Suresh Kamatchi and Kathiresan. The sad part is that there are people who get a chance to direct a film after working as an assistant to someone for more than 15 or 20 years. But Karthik didn't have to struggle so much — he had a comparatively easy entry into the industry. He got a chance from the then new producer CV Kumar. In fact, Kumar is also vexed with the way Karthik has showcased that particular character in the film. The fight between Karthik and Kathiresan during Jigarthanda is known to everyone. What CV Kumar faced during Iraivi was two times bigger than that. Kumar is known for making small-budget films. But Iraivi's budget went up to 13 crores. He remained silent as he feared that any controversy before its release would put him into trouble. I will stand by the decision which will be taken by the Producers' Council."
