How, she gets back to her country with the help of an Indian and an African kid is the central part of the story. Roopa was quoted saying, "Colours can mean two things — first, that a child's life is always carefree and full of colour; and the second is the reference to skin colour and, in other words, racism. The idea behind bringing in children for such a film was to drive home the fact that emotions never create barriers to communication. These three children, despite not knowing each other's language, showcase leadership qualities and help each other out in time of need." The film is shot in the Dandeli forests, where they found a kid, who belongs to an African tribe named Sidhi Jananya, who are living in the woods for more than 300 years.
