It took one Raj B Shetty to restore the glory of Kannada cinema at the box office. His satirical drama, Su from So, has struck gold at the box office. Directed by JP Thuminad, the satirical movie stars JP Thuminad, Shaneel Gautham, Prakash Thuminad etc., with a cameo from Raj B Shetty.

Made on a mere budget of 5.5 crores, the movie has grossed nearly 80 crores worldwide, becoming one of the highest grossing Kannada movies since 2023, when Darshan Thogudeepa starrrer Kaatera earned 67 crores worldwide. Su from So is the second highest grossing Kannada movie after the animated movie Mahavatar Narsimha, which has earned more than 150 crores worldwide in all languages.

Raj B Shetty is well known for giving Kannada cinema some of the most innovative movies since 2017. His directorial Ondu Motteya Kathe, which was based on his own problem of male pattern baldness, turned out to be a surprise blockbuster. Raj B Shetty later earned massive fame with movies like Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana, 777 Charlie, Turbo etc. He will be next seen in the action fantasy movie 45, which also stars Dr. Shiva Rajkumar and Upendra in the lead roles.
