were amongst some of the artists who were awarded on the last day of ‘Asmita Parv,’ an annual cultural festival by Morari Bapu. The ghazal maestro was awarded the Hanumant Award. Hema Malini, who also performed through Nritya Natika, was also awarded the Hanumant Award under the category of Bharatanatyam. Some of the other awardees included Ulhas Kashalkar, Suresh Talvalkar, and Debu Chaudhary. Nagji Patel received the Kailash Latikala. In what could only be called a star-studded event, irrespective of protests that took place opposing the presence of Ghulam Ali, several well-deserved artists were honoured and recognized publically.
