Bachchan in his official blog has said, ‘An exceptional Smita Patil has been so uncomfortable during the shooting of the entire film ‘Namak Halal’ because she just could not understand why she was asked to do what she asked to do in the film. Later, she did it with a lot of personal persuasion from me’, he added. ‘Namak Halal’ had completed 34 years on Saturday.
