Rajat Bhagat is an Indian film and theatre actor and voice artist who predominantly works in Hindi movies. He rose to fame after appearing in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider.

Rajat Bhagat was born in Faridabad, a city in Haryana. Since childhood, Rajat aspired to be an actor. He completed his education in Faridabad and moved to Delhi to pursue his dream of acting. As a first step in realizing his dream, Rajat joined a theatre group in Delhi and has worked on stage performances and plays. He worked extensively in theater for more than six years before entering into films. In 2002, Rajat moved to Mumbai to try his hands on movies.

Rajat gained his first opportunity in 2002 and made his big-screen appearance with the film Style where he played the role, Nitin. Following his debut, Rajat had a hard time making it in Bollywood Industry. After a long struggle, he earned a chance to appear in the mimic show, Hello Kaun? Pehchaan Kaun aired on STAR ONE in 2008. Before making a breakthrough as an actor, he spent some years working in serials. Following Gangs of Wasseypur, Rajat Bhagat got the chance to appear in Vishal Bhardwaj’s crime drama Haider which is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. After a brief audition, Rajat was selected to play the role of one of Shahid’s friends, who is also a huge Salman Khan fan. He nailed his part as a spy, who backstabs his friend due to circumstances, and a Salman Khan fan, with his mimicry skills. His character was well-received by both the audience and critics. Apart from feature films, Rajat has done short films like Beware, Back support, and Fashion Ka Tadka. His other ventures include Bombairiya in 2019, where he played a small role.

Rajat Bhagat had his fair share of struggles in obtaining a position in the film industry. But these circumstances didn’t stop him from fulfilling his dream of becoming an actor. With his perseverance and hard work, he made it into the Bollywood industry.
