Rakhee Sharma is an actor cum theatre artist. Rakhee completed her studies with a degree of B.A Honours in acting from Royal Central School specialised in Speech and Drama in 2017.
She did a one year course in acting from Fourth Monkey Theatre Company in 2013. After coming to the UK in 2012, she worked in different short films, Docu-dramas, music videos and commercials. Some of the significant films in which she worked are “Women prohibited” in which she played the character of “Joy,” ”Mania” directed by Abigail Mcveigh in which she played a role of a patient and “West Herts College” as the character of Stella.
It was a short film, directed by Tasneem Choudhary of 16SQ Studios. Talking of her journey, she started her career as a Radio Presenter in Radio Asian Fever 107.3 in 2007. She took interviews of Asian actors and musicians and conducted group discussions with them. In 2009, Rakhee participated in Dance India Dance and added another feather to her hat. She worked as an Assistant Director with Remo D’Souza in one of his Bollywood films named ‘ Faltu Faltu is an Indian drama serial that premiered in >> Read More... .’
In the same film, she gave a guest appearance as a gang leader. She also worked on ‘Indian Idol,’ for Sony TV in the year 2010 as Assistant Director. In theatrics, Rakhee notably played the lead role of ‘Oli’ in the play “Sans Salom” under Edinburgh Fringe Company, Directed by Toby Clarke.
In 2012, she played the character of Belle in ‘ Promised Land Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ which was directed by Rod Dixon and comes under Red Ladder Theatre Company. The Empress, Maqtub,From morning to midnight, The Rivals, Their eyes are watching God, The Glass Menagerie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The cherry Orchid are her famous plays. Rakhee’s performances got critically appreciated by the audience in each one of her role.
Among various dance styles, Hip Hop, Belly dance, Bollywood, Laban, Physical theatre, Devising, Clowning and Gaga movements are her forte. She was presented with Laurence Olivier Bursary Award in 2016 for her outstanding skills in acting.
