Avadhoot was born and brought up in Mumbai. He is predominantly a music composer. Gupte made his first music album called as Paus in Marathi, which was released by the label Sagarika Music. The album was received well, and it fetched Gupte, the Best Composer Award, at The Alpha Gaurav Puraskar, in the year 2002. Avadhoot participated in the Music competition Saregama, organized by TVS. He won the championship, and this fame scaled up his career to a great height. After this success, he started singing and making music for several Marathi and Hindi movies. As an independent singer, he made the album Meri Madhubala, in Marathi, in the year 2003.
