1. Nivedita Joshi Saraf

Nivedita Joshi Saraf was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra and completed her education there itself. She has worked in many Hindi and Marathi languages films before coming to join TV serials. She has acted as lead heroine in many Hindi and Marathi movies from 80s and early 90s. She was last spotted in Sapno se Bhare Naina TV Serial produced by Balaji Telefilms. In the show she replaced Mangal Kenkre who was initially decided to play the character which was later portrayed by Nivedita. There she played the role of the mother of lead (Gaurav S Bajaj) as Vibha Patvardhan who was very kind and faced the financial crisis.


Before Sapno se Bhare Naina, she was shown in another Balaji Telefilms famous show Sarvagun Sampann. The show aired the story of a poor family of Swara which was associated to theater in various places of Maharashtra. Swara along with family faced the strong opposition from society being a Lavani dancer. The show aired on NDTV Imagine channel.


Nivedita married to veteran Hindi and Marathi actor Ashok Saraf who has played numerous unforgettable characters in famous films like Singham series, Karan Arjun and the famous TV serial Hum Paanch which aired on ZeeTV in mid 90’s.

Intro: Renuka Shahane is a veteran television star who established herself as the top television actress during the 1990’s. She is married to Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana and the couple has two sons.


Renuka Shahane is a veteran television actress who also gained a huge success in Bollywood movies. She first appeared as a television host for popular morning television show Surabhi which was telecasted on Doordarshan National television channel from 1993 to 2001. During the decade of 1990’s she was considered to be top television actress along with Pallavi Joshi, Shefali Chaya, and Kitu Gidwani. In 1994, she appeared in the highly successful Bollywood movie Hum Apke Hain Koun? After that she also worked for some other successful movies such as Money Money (1995), Masoom (1996), and Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha (2004).


Despite her success in Bollywood, she remained a major Indian television actress. She played the role of love interest of Shahrukh Khan in the television serial Circus which was aired in 1989 on DD National. Some other highly acclaimed television serials in which she played lead role of other significant roles include Imtihaan, Junoon, Sailaab, and 9 Malabar Hill. She also appeared in the comedy television serial Mrs Madhuri Dixit which was aired on Zee TV. In the year 2010, she competed in the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 4 which was aired on Sony Entertainment Channel. In 2011, she presented a show Ladies First as a co-host for the television channel Food Food. In 2014, she appeared for the role of Renuka in the television serial Mere Rang Mein Rangne Waali which was aired on Life Ok. Recently, she worked for a children’s programme Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo which was aired on Disney Channel in 2015.

3. Kishori Shahane

Kishori Shahane is a renowned folk and classical dancer and a Marathi film actress from India. She was married to Hindi film director, Deepak Balraj Vij. Besides acting, Kishori is also the producer who was part of the film about Sai Baba’s life. 

 

She studied at Mithibai College in Vile Parle, Mumbai where she was crowned as the Miss Mithibai College in 1990. She initiated her career into Marathi films and gained her popularity through the 1991 blockbuster film, Maherchi Sadi and Wajva Re Wajva. She received praises and recognitions after doing stage plays like the Hindi play, Aadhe Adhure and the Marathi play, Moruchi Mauchi. 

 

Kishori also appeared in the blockbuster films, Ek Daav Dhobi Pachad and also in Navra Majha Navsacha. She also appeared in the Bollywood Hindi film, Pyaar Mein Twist under the direction of Karan Kapoor in 2005.  Subsequently, Kishori was also seen in the Bollywood crime thriller film, Red: The Dark Side by Vikram Bhatt. 

 

Kishori’s husband is a Hindi director who recognized her acting ability. They worked together in films like Hafta Band in 1991, Bomb Blast and few more films. During the set of Hafta Band, the two became closer and eventually got married. Later, she entered the Hindi television serials and worked consistently in the Hindi and Marathi films. She got more fame with her performance in the television serial, Ghar Ek Mandir, Sindoor and the Indian version of Yo Soy Betty, La Fea, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin on Sony TV. Kishori became a regular face in the television industry and many of her serials were aired on various Indian TV channels. 

 

Kishori also performed her dancing skills in India and abroad. She also made her music video entitled, Saavan for Venus. After many years, she joined the Mrs. Gladrags Beauty Pageant and became a runner-up in year 2003. As a producer and director, Kishori’s Mohatyachi Renuka got the Best Editing Award in Maharashtra State Award in 2007. She did the Hindi spiritual film, Malik Ek with Jackie Shroff in the main role. 

 

Kishori worked in over 40 Marathi films like Ek Daaw Dhobi Pacchad, Wajawa Re Wajawa, Atmavishwas, Ekulati Ek, Narbachi Wadi and more. She also did Hindi films like Shirdi Sai Baba, Pyar Ka Devta, Mumbai Godfather, Milenge Milenge, We R Friends, Superstar and more. 

She also did few television serials. She appeared in the Balaji Telefilms’, Kohi Apna Sa on Zee TV. She was also roped in to play as the mother of Vedika and Nihariks in the Hindi serial, Sindoor Tere Naam Ka. She was also seen in television serials like Kabhie To Nazar Milao on Sony TV, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli on Zee TV, Do Dil Ek Jaan on Life OK and more. She also joined the Indian dance television series, Saas V/S Bahu on Sahara One.

Later, Kishori stated her career as a filmmaker and producer. In 2007, she even won the Maharastra State Award for the movie Mohatyachi Renuka for best editing. Kishori produced and directed the movie. Later, she made another movie with her husband name Malik Ek, starring Jackie Shroff. The movie didn’t do well at the Box-Office.
