Kavita Lankesh is a lyricist, screenplay writer, and film director of Indian origin. Kavitha, whose parents are journalist P. Lankesh and Indira, was born in Bangalore. Her mother runs a sari shop in the city. Kavitha comes from a family with a notable background in journalism and media publishing. Her father, P. Lankesh, founded the successful weekly tabloid Lankesh Patrike. Kavitha has two siblings, Indrajit and Gauri, with her brother being a filmmaker and her sister, Gauri Lankesh, having been the chief editor of the tabloid.
